传统芭蕾讲求一致性，但托卡黛罗展现出了各种意义上的多元，无论是性取向还是被解构成滑稽戏的故事。如何判定你是否真的学好了某种语言？用它讲笑话。舞蹈语音中一个搞笑的惯用方式是加大动作幅度，这并不容易，要求舞者有更稳的基本功。看到得了帕金森的老天鹅羽毛成片抖落，搞笑但又有点心酸，不过有多少职业是真的无关年龄的呢。衰老的可怕之处可能就在于眼见一个人一点点退化却无能为力。总体而言题材很有趣，但还少了点触动人的感觉。
七八十年代舞团刚成立时的情形可以多放一些，可以增加影片的厚重感和纵深感。舞团饰演的女性角色当然看得出都是男人反串的，但神奇的是，男性角色看起来竟然像是女性演员出演的，大概是妆容的关系。据说来过中国演出，竟然完全不知道……下次来一定要去看。
